# TON Smart Contracts

### What is a TON smart contract?

In a nutshell, it can be anything 😄

**A smart contract** is the **relatively** smallest unit of the TON blockchain. In other words, it is the smallest program with its address on the blockchain.

Technically, it can be a user wallet, a unique NFT, or a collection. Some contracts can contain information, while others can be empty and nominal.

On TON, all smart contracts can be executed in parallel. This logic helps contracts interact with each other fast, thus speeding up transactions.

1. There is a small fee for launching every smart contract. No need to worry; all blockchains have it.
2. Sometimes, it is necessary to execute a string of smart contracts to complete one transaction. This also allows for better network load distribution.
